In Vienna, Taylor Swift's devotees have come together to offer each other comfort following the pop icon's unexpected cancellation of her "Eras Tour" shows in the city due to terrorist threats.
On August 8th, crowds of Swifties lined the pavements of Austria's capital, exchanging friendship bracelets and harmonizing to Swift's hits, as captured in videos shared on social media platform X.
The fans intentionally assembled on Corneliusgasse, a street whose name resonates with “Cornelia Street,” a track from Swift’s 2019 "Lover" album, as reported by the AP.
The previous day, the 34-year-old singer scrapped three Vienna concerts after the arrest of two individuals suspected of plotting attacks in the city, including those targeting her performances.
Swift was set to perform at the Ernst Happel Stadium on the 8th, 9th, and 10th of August.
She had previously expressed in 2019 her “greatest fear” of such an attack occurring at one of her gigs, referencing the 2017 Manchester Arena bombing and the Las Vegas music festival shooting.
“I was completely terrified to go on tour this time because I didn’t know how we were going to keep 3 million fans safe over seven months,” she said. “There was a tremendous amount of planning, expense, and effort put into keeping my fans safe.
