Salem is poised for the return of a well-liked character, with Kyle Lowder preparing to step back into the role of Rex Brady on the popular series ‘Days of Our Lives.’
Lowder initially hinted at his comeback on August 12, via his Instagram Stories, where he posted a video from inside his vehicle. “I find myself in a place that’s like a second home, not just today but in the coming days as well,” the soap opera veteran expressed. “Here’s a clue for you — I’m parked in Burbank at a studio.
It’s been a while since I’ve been here! I’m really looking forward to this.”
A representative from ‘Days’ later verified the news to Soap Opera Digest, affirming Lowder’s impending comeback to the enduring daytime drama. “It’s confirmed! Rex is back in Salem, and we’re eager to uncover the reason for his return… in the spring,” the spokesperson mentioned, adding that Lowder’s episodes are scheduled for broadcast in 2025.
Lowder’s history with ‘Days’ is a lengthy one; he initially joined the cast in 2000 as Brady Black, a character he portrayed until 2005.
He made a comeback in 2018, but with Eric Martsolf having solidified the role of the mature Brady Black, Lowder was recast as Rex Brady, a character originally portrayed by Eric Winter as one of the Gemini Twins.
Although Lowder concluded his contractual period in 2019, he continued to make occasional appearances from 2020 to 2023. His decision to leave the series was partly influenced by his wish to dedicate more time to his daughter, Isabella, with whom he co-parents alongside his ex-wife and fellow ‘Days’ actress, Arianne Zucker.
