Renowned country music singer Jeannie Seely recently disclosed that she was hospitalized in Pennsylvania.
According to Taste of Country, Seely’s management stated that the 84-year-old, originally from Titusville, was in the Keystone State when she was admitted to the hospital “due to dehydration and acute diverticulitis.”
Diverticulitis, as described by the Mayo Clinic, is the inflammation of “irregular bulging pouches in the wall of the large intestine” and can lead to pain, nausea, fever, and can be a serious condition.
Seely remarked to Taste of Country, “I never anticipated a visit to the hospital on my journey home, but when it was required, it was another chance to encounter the hospitality of Pennsylvania. I couldn’t have received better care or more respect than I did at St. Clare Hospital in Pittsburgh, nor the consideration shown at Pittsburgh International Airport. The kindness is greatly appreciated, and I’m incredibly proud to call the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania my birthplace.
”
Taste of Country reported that Seely has been released from the hospital and is “doing well.”
The site mentioned that the Titusville native was back in Pennsylvania to be honored.
Per Taste of Country, Seely has been an “institution” in country music since the 1960s and is known as “Miss Country Soul.” She has won a Grammy Award, has a star on the Music City Walk of Fame, and is a member of the Grand Ole Opry.
