“Taylor Swift | The Eras Tour Vienna performances axed following official confirmation of an imminent terrorist threat,” announced Barracuda Music, an Austrian music promotion outfit, via an Instagram post. “In light of government officials’ confirmation of a terrorist plot targeting Ernst Happel Stadium, the only viable action is to cancel the impending trio of gigs to ensure the safety of all.
”
Visitors to Swift’s official webpage will find the Vienna dates marked as canceled, with a promise of ticket refunds within the next 10 working days.
Swift was all set to take the stage at Vienna’s Ernst Happel Stadium on Thursday, Friday, and Saturday as part of her global “The Eras Tour” journey. The three concerts were sold out, with a collective audience of approximately 170,000 fans expected to attend over the three-day period.
