Chidimma Adetshina, a finalist in the Miss South Africa pageant, who has recently faced xenophobic assaults related to her nationality, has debunked allegations concerning a widely shared video that incorrectly identifies a man as her father, insisting,"He’s not my dad."
Adetshina has become a topic of conversation on social media platforms due to criticism regarding her citizenship and her Nigerian roots. She is currently among the top 11 contestants in the Miss South Africa 2024 competition.
Nonetheless, Adetshina, who turned 23 this year and was born in 2001, is the offspring of a Nigerian father and a South African mother with Mozambican ancestry.
In the midst of the persistent criticism, a clip surged in popularity on social networks where a Nigerian individual was mistakenly assumed to be Adetshina’s father.
In the footage, the Nigerian man, who is also married to a South African, distinctly recalls that his first visit to South Africa was in 2010 for the FIFA World Cup.
