Carly Pearce is not tolerating any heckling at her shows. Speaking with Ashley Morrison of iHeartCountry on US 103.5 in Tampa Bay, Florida, Pearce recounted an occurrence where she demanded the expulsion of a rude fan from her performance at WE Fest at Soo Pass Ranch in Detroit Lakes, Minnesota.
The singer from Kentucky remarked in the interview, “It seems folks are getting to know a different side of me, but it’s what the guys do all the time.
It’s no exception. If someone’s going to be disrespectful at my concert, they need to leave.”She continued, “Too many individuals assume they can act without consequence… He pushed me to a point where my ‘Kentucky’ really came out, and I’m just so fed up with being scared to stand my ground.”
In social media posts featuring footage from the event, Pearce is seen requesting that an attendee who had been rude during her set be ejected, saying, “Get him out of here.
I don’t want him at my concert. Leave my show.” Directing her comments at the disruptive individual, Pearce declared, “If you’re going to act like a jerk, you need to say it to my face and then get the hell out of my show. I don’t have time for jerks. See you later!”
As the crowd cheered the removal of the heckler, Pearce addressed the audience from the stage, “It doesn’t matter if it’s to me, someone next to you, online, or in a text.
Words can hurt. That hurt me. It was uncalled for, and I’m here to remind you all to be kind. Don’t say hurtful things just to be cruel. There are repercussions for your actions. It’s not kind, it’s not right, and I don’t think he should’ve been at my show treating me that way… This is the first time I’ve ever kicked someone out of one of my shows, but if someone is going to be that cruel and disrespectful, they’re not welcome.
So, thank you for your kindness tonight and for coming out. And seriously, just be nice to people. Don’t be mean. It’s not worth it.”
