A number of figures from the entertainment and music sectors are throwing their weight behind Vice President Kamala Harris’ bid for the presidency in the 2024 election. Stars including Charli XCX, Barbra Streisand, Sheryl Lee Ralph, and Kerry Washington have all publicly backed Harris on their social media platforms following President Joe Biden’s announcement that he will not run for re-election.
On August 5th, the actress and committed environmental activist Jane Fonda officially endorsed Harris, stating her decision to vote for the Vice President was “not solely because Donald Trump would be an utter catastrophe for our democracy and the environment, but because she is the most suitable candidate for the role.

"At my age, one has the advantage of reflecting on those pivotal times when a monumental shift realigned the components of your existence — altering your narrative, and perhaps even the course of the world's story, irrevocably," she commented. "We are currently experiencing such a period. All is at stake."
Harris concluded July with significant support from two famous figures at an Atlanta rally: the Vice President introduced Quavo for a talk on firearm safety and Megan Thee Stallion for a rap set.
Following the widespread circulation of videos featuring Harris to the rhythm of Charli XCX’s album “Brat” around the time of her announcement, the artist posted on the social media platform X, “Kamala IS brat.” Harris’ X profile then started following Charli.
As for Barbra Streisand, she expressed her “affection” for Biden and then stated that Harris would “carry on Joe Biden’s initiatives and will make an excellent president.
