After experiencing several devastating miscarriages, country music sensation Carrie Underwood, 41, is eager to expand her family with a third child. She and her husband, ex-NHL player Mike Fisher, 44, are actively looking into adoption as a path forward, an insider exclusively tells Life & Style.
The singer of “Jesus, Take the Wheel” and her spouse are keen on providing a sibling for their sons Isaiah, 9, and Jacob, 5, and are actively pursuing the addition of another child to their household, the source discloses.
“Carrie suffered the loss of three pregnancies before Jacob’s birth and felt that was the path meant for her,” the informant reveals.
“However, Mike has been enthusiastic about growing their family, so they’re determined to bring another little one into their lives.”
A close friend of the Nashville star notes that she is immensely grateful for her husband’s dedication to shouldering the bulk of parenting responsibilities while she navigates her intense performance schedule.
“Mike has received numerous offers to get into coaching, which interests him,” the friend elaborates. “But he believes his priority is with his family, rather than being away for eight months a year during hockey season.”
Sources indicate that Underwood is fully committed to her Las Vegas residency, which concludes in October, and intends to take a hiatus from performing to focus on the intricate adoption process.
“They’ve had consultations with legal experts regarding the adoption,” the friend shares. “And their boys are incredibly excited at the prospect of welcoming a new brother or sister into their family!”
