As Bridgerton’s third season unfolds, viewers may find themselves curious about the new face in the Bridgerton family. Enter Francesca Bridgerton, the sixth child and third daughter, who steps into the spotlight with a fresh portrayal by Hannah Dodd. Previously seen only briefly in Seasons 1 and 2, Francesca was played by Ruby Stokes, but now, with Dodd taking over the role, she is ready to make a significant impact.
Francesca has always been the shy and unassuming Bridgerton sibling, often overshadowed by her more flamboyant brothers and sisters. However, her quiet charm and introspective nature make her a compelling character in her own right. As she navigates her first social season, presented to Queen Charlotte (Golda Rosheuvel), she is thrust into the limelight, much to her initial discomfort.
“Francesca is more interested in playing the pianoforte than participating in the social whirl,” Dodd explains.
Violet Bridgerton (Ruth Gemmell), ever the hopeful mother, dreams of Francesca becoming the second “diamond” of the family, following in the footsteps of her sister, Daphne.
